The making of the Lutheran Church
had sparked the reformation and all the newer churches were known as ‘The
Reformed’ churches. One of them was the Anabaptist church, which began in
Zurich, Switzerland. The leader of this church was Ulrich Zwingli.
Three leaders in this
Zurich group were Conrad Grebel,
Felix Manz and Georg Blaurock. They wrote letters to leaders and nobles for
support in the church. In January 21, 1525, these three men met in prayer and
after the prayer, Blaurock asked Grebel to baptize him. In return all the other
men in the room were baptized. They were known as the ‘Anabaptist’, which means
rebaptized because they were rebaptised as adults.
