First Impressions!!

Ooooh La La! I know Brian and I had long talks with people back home, we saw a whole lot of pictures, even some video clips, received lots of advice, but all of it doesn't prepare you!...This is definitely Jupiter, as Lance said in his first blog entry about Nigeria! “I don’t think any amount of description, advice or talking can accurately describe how it is here; I’m still forming opinions, and think I will for a while to come!”:D

Culture Shock To Say the Least!!

Before we left for Africa we were told many times that the culture shock would be one of the big challenges that we would face. Like most people I looked forward to it in both anticipation and dread.
The first signs of having entered a different culture were obvious when I entered the Lagos airport; I was hit by the fact that there were mostly black people in the baggage pickup area. This might sound very irrelevant, but the fact is that everyone was looking and watching the white people, as there were only a handful in the entire airport. Lea....

Nigeria 2008!
Hello, out of Africa to everyone in Canada and beyond! We are now the new “bloggers” of The Bridge, Brian and Leanne. Maybe we’ll get Ed Vetter and Judy to write something too! We have only been in Palmgrove for 6 days and my first blog will be about our flights and experiences on getting to this infamous place.
We left Crystal Spring on Wednesday 6th, 2008, heading for the Winnipeg Airport. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 12:00pm. ....
